DDXG at Pocohontas SP, Virginia.

Hello All,



As we have discussed at our recent meetings, we will not have our usual DDXG meeting at Deep Run in October. Instead, we will have a casual meeting at Pocahontas State Park on Saturday, October 19th that will feature a Parks On The Air (POTA) activity for our group. Please note that this is a week earlier than our usual meeting date. I know that some members have previous commitments, but if you can, please save the date for this DDXG event.



Members, family, and guests all are invited. We will gather at picnic shelter #2 beginning at 10 AM and will have several stations set up and operating for those who would like to get on the air. Members are welcome to bring a lunch if they like, and we plan to take a lunch break around noon. The club is providing some beverages and snacks for all.



Our thanks to Adam, KQ4OTH, for using his POTA experience to acquaint DDXG members with this activity and for organizing our event. The DDXG website, DDXG.net, has an article on POTA that includes links to more information on the POTA website and to the presentation that Adam provided at our last meeting.



Over the next few days we will be sending some more details about our gathering and about POTA. In the meantime, please respond and let us know if you plan to attend.
