MPARC Hamfest - February 1, 2025

Post by admin »

Hello again,

Just a quick reminder that the hamfest is only 49 days away. That isn't much time, so if you are considering getting a space for your club or if anyone in your club wants their own table, please let me know as soon as possible so you will be able to get a really good space. It is first come, first serve, and I have to figure out where everyone is going to land. There are also spaces outside for tailgaters if they want to take a chance on Virginia weather.

You can visit our website, mparchamfest.com, to obtain all the information and the form you need to send to me (with your check) to save your space. You can also reserve admission tickets and buy raffle tickets all on the same form. Each table comes with one admission ticket (which will be inside your Welcome Package) and a ticket that will be good for a vendor's only drawing.

Let us hear from you soon before all the spaces fill up!

Had a great time at the MPARC Hamfest today, and such fine BBQ at Scoot's BBQ just ten minutes away!

You must go next year!

The Hamfest was well attended and, as they say, a good time was had by all.
Many of the usual kinds of items for sale, but it seemed that many "boat anchors" found new homes for reasonable prices.
I so nearly bought a Mint-condition Heathkit GR-78, complete with manual -my first real receiver.
Then I thought "what for?" I have far better receivers now, and what would I want with relearning the art of crystal calibrating a bandspread tuner, and....
But it brought back many memories of happy times with the GR-78!
