What about Citizens Band (CB)?

What is, and isn't Ham radio, why it's a fun and absorbing interest.
What's possible for the radio amateur?
Licensing and privilege of ham radio.

What about Citizens Band (CB)?

Post by KX4QC »

Citizens Band radio is fun, but legally restricted in which frequencies my be used and also maximum power.
Except under unusual natural conditions, the signal doesn't travel much more than line-of-sight.
The good bit is that you don't need a license!

CB is not Ham or Amateur Radio.

The better bit is that it gives a taste of what might be possible with more frequencies, power and techniques.
So many licensed ham radio operators started out with CB, and then got their Ham License.
You should too!

You have noticed the Guest Sampler!
