Amateur, or Ham radio is fun. How do I know?
Just think of some of the things we do:
  • Voice to anywhere in the neighborhood,
    Text, and pictures locally, nationally,
International voice, text, pictures, almost anywhere in the world,
Construction and design of antennas and equipment, from simplest to advance projects,
Emergency (ARES, etc) and Public Event communications, with local fire, police, ambuance etc,,
Educational outreach: see the kids light up when they are speaking live to the International Space Station crew,
    Satellite and Moonbounce (EME) communications,
Morse Code (CW) and Radio Teletype (RTTY) -not necessary for licensing, but a lot of fun!
Communication makes the world come together, You'd be amazed what is easily possible with just a modest investment of learning and simple equipment.

Well, here is the British enthusiasm for Amateur Radio.

You can't say they're having anything other than the greatest fun!
