6m Beacons and Meteor Scatter Project

Post by KX4QC »

Here are a couple of lists of 6m Beacons.
They seem the most recent I could find, but could do with some updating.
Please post a better one if you can.

Beacons re useful to gauge propagation, but maybe today we need just PSKReporter and WSPR?

Well?

Well here's something not easy to do without a beacon. Monitor meteor scatter and formation of SpE.

There's a fine article in the March RadCom, showing how to monitor with just an inexpensive SDR and a just-over-the-horizon 6m beacon.

The catch is that you need to know where the beacons are, so either refer to the lists in the previous post, or best of all, contribute a better list.

Just a thought, eclipses affect ionization, so it might be fun to monitor the effect of the traveling shadow on propagation from known locations?

Already have a 6m receiver? I guess it's easier still; you don't even need a SDR for this.
