Here is an excellent illustrated history of digital modes in radio. Good reading for military buffs too... Remember Piccolo, Coquelet....?

Looks like HF is being dragged into the digital age, maybe a good thing? Or should we stay with the comforting old steam-driven "boat-anchor" and AM?
